Bio

Kadessi Alassani is a London-based visual artist and photographer whose work explores identity, memory, and the emotional landscapes of the African diaspora. Through photography, film, and AI-assisted image-making, he creates cinematic portraits that blend documentary sensitivity with a refined visual language.

His practice is rooted in storytelling, examining themes of heritage, masculinity, and belonging, through portraiture, which constructs images that feel both intimate and monumental. Drawing on a sculptural approach to light, texture, and composition, Alassani’s work seeks to offer nuanced representations of contemporary African and diasporic identities.

His work has been featured in Dazed and Architectural Digest, and exhibited internationally at the Togo Photo Festival in 2025. Notable projects include Nameless and Atlas, which reflect his ongoing exploration of culture, memory, and visual storytelling.
